    Central China Normal University(CCNU) signs a university-government strategic cooperation agreement with Jingzhou Municipal People’s Government

    On November 2nd, Central China Normal University (CCNU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government. He Guangzhong, Secretary of the Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee and Zhao Lingyun, President of CCNU attended and addressed the signing ceremony. Present were Cui Yonghui, Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government; Cai Hongsheng, Vice President of CCNU; Zhu Yehong, Party Secretary of Yangtze University; as well as Jingzhou's municipal leaders. Sun Yuqiu, Deputy Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government presided the signing ceremony.

    Under the agreement, the both sides will be in the principle of "resource sharing, sincerely cooperation, doing in honesty and sharing, mutual benefit". The both parties will base on the education cooperation and take teacher training and science and technology within culture industry cooperation as a bond. They will deepen cooperation in fields such as the talented person cooperation, conversion of science & technology achievements and interlink project cooperation. The two sides will establish long-term, comprehensive and deep strategic cooperation relationship. Combined academic advantages, social service ability, professional talents advantages of CCNU and geographical advantage of Jingzhou as well as its profound historical and cultural accumulation, and work together to push forward the fast and healthy development of the both sides.

    He Guangzhong, Secretary of the Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee,  thanked CCNU for its long-term strong support to Jingzhou's development. He said, Jingzhou is a historical and cultural city, with Chu culture, Three Kingdoms culture, water culture, farming culture and red culture bringing out the best in each other; Jingzhou is an educational city known as a "city of prime ministers", with 138 prime ministers coming from ancient times. Now Jingzhou is in a critical period of transformation, overtaking and accelerated rejuvenation. He hoped the two sides would jointly build a mobile classroom for research and teaching and a demonstrative base for research finding transformation, and deepen cooperation in advantage complementation, in a joint bid to open a new page forcity-university cooperation.

    In the new historical period, Jingzhou has reached a new level in economic and social development as one of the fastest-growing cities (prefectures) in Hubei, said Zhao Lingyun. General Secretary Xi Jinping called for efforts to “take root in China to run universities”. CCNU shall not “slack off” in university-government cooperation. During the process of cooperation deepening in the future, based on its leading disciplines such as pesticide science, political science and basic education, CCNU will integrate the superior resources of its other disciplines, go all out to serve the development of Jingzhou's basic education, new countryside construction, ecological agriculture and other undertakings, and work with Jingzhou to build research finding transformation, cadre training and teacher training bases, to build a CCNU & Jingzhou development community with joint efforts of both sides.
