The Alumni Association of the School of Foreign Languages donates epidemic prevention materials
to overseas teachers and students
With the spread of COVID-19 in many countries around the world, the overseas teachers and students of our school are affecting the hearts of the people outside our school. According to statistics, there are still more than 80 teachers and students in our hospital studying and communicating overseas, and more than 30 of them are in severe epidemic areas in Japan, the United States, France, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and other countries, where epidemic prevention materials are scarce and in urgent need of help. In order to help our college teachers and students abroad to do a good job in epidemic prevention, the friends of our college launched the "Overseas aid to teachers and students" activity, and issued an initiative on March 28, calling on residents to crowdfund epidemic prevention supplies, relay aid to teachers and students overseas.
In view of the fact that Wuhan is still recovering from the epidemic and the external manpower, material resources and transportation capacity are still being rebuilt, in order to send epidemic prevention materials abroad in the first time, the alumni Association of wuhan University of Foreign Languages has entrusted shenzhen Alumni Branch of The School of Foreign Languages as the implementation party to accept donations from the alumni and caring people to help the overseas teachers and students. In just three days, the Shenzhen Association raised about 20,000 yuan in funds and medical masks and other anti-epidemic materials. More than 30 overseas teachers and students are equipped with 50 medical masks and 100 medical gloves for each, which are packed together with the college's love cards and sent to different countries by express. Overseas teachers and students will soon receive a lot of love and care from the college and residents.
Li Juan, the secretary general and executive director of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, which is in charge of the event, said that the donation will be conducted in the principle of "openness, transparency, professionalism and efficiency". All the funds raised will be used to purchase protective materials and assist overseas teachers and students. This activity reflects the students' feelings of "helping each other to welcome the spring together" and their love of "holding hands and working together in times of difficulty".
