Xiamen Alumni Association of ouruniversitywas established

November 7, Xiamen Alumni Association held the inaugural meeting, attended by Vice President Li Hongfei.Representatives of local alumni associations in Hunan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Fujian, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Ningbo, Luoyang, Zhuhai, Jingmen, Yichang and other local alumni associations and representatives of Xiamen alumni associations of sister universities, more than 200 people working in various industries in Xiamen Alumni, as well as heads of relevant functional departments and colleges of the school participated.

At the inaugural meeting, Xie Wentao,an class-of-1997 alumnus of the Chinese Department, gave a report on the preparations. The Secretary General of the Alumni Association read out the "Reply on the Establishment of the Xiamen Alumni Association of Central China Normal University". Bin Honghua,an class-of-1983 alumnus of the Department of Mathematics, was elected as the honorary president; Liu Yang,an class-of-1985alumnusof the major of ideological and political, was elected as the president; and Xie Wentao,an class-of-1985alumnusof the Department of Chinese, was elected as the executive president.

Liu Yang, the newly-elected president of the Xiamen Alumni Association, said that he will be obliged to do all work with a high sense of responsibility and mission, running the alumni association with heart and gathering the strength of alumni with love. He will carry forward the Chinese teachers' spirit of "loyal, liberal, elegant, simple and fortitude", building a platform, serving his alma mater, serving alumni, and serving the construction of "two highs and two modernizations" in Xiamen. So that the majority of alumni will have more sense of gain, happiness, and security. He will do his best to live up to the trust of his alma mater and all the alumni, and to win glory for the Chinese Teachers, to add color to life, and to enhance Xiamen.

On behalf of the school and the Alumni Association, Li Hongfei expressed his congratulations on the establishment of the Xiamen Alumni Association, and expressed his sincere admiration for the outstanding contributions made by the alumni ofCCNUto the local economic and social development in Xiamen.He introduced to the alumni the latest developmentsituationof theuniversity, as well as the "sixterms ofwork" that theuniversityis planning and advancing, such as foundingit' ssoul , writingit' shistory, buildingit' sproducts, gathering alumni, building campus, and establishingit' ssystem.He said that theuniversitywill practice the "three forever" alumni work philosophy, implementingthe "three priorities" principle, establishing"four platforms" for communication, cooperation, investment, and donation, and strivingto create a "school + alumni" development community .

On behalf of the Alumni Association, Li Hongfei put forward three hopes for the Xiamen Alumni Association.Firstlly, he hoped to lead Xiamen alumni to continuously promote the all-round cooperation between the university and Xiamen in education, technology, culture, etc., contributing to the development of Xiamen, Fujian and even the Southeast region, and making new and greater contributions to the development of the university. Secondly, he hoped to build a broader development and entrepreneurial platform for Xiamen alumni, so that the alumni association can truly become the spiritual home for Xiamen alumni to exchange and learn, and make progress together. Thirdly, he hoped that the Xiamen Alumni Association will learn from other brother universities for their valuable experience of the alumni associations and strive to become a model of the Alumni Association of CCNU.
