On November 20th, the inaugural meeting of the 6th overseas alumni association of our university—South Korean Alumni Association was held. The conference was attended in a combination of online and offline.Two venues in Daegu andCCNUwereset up offline, and live broadcast to all alumni online.Party Secretary of the university Zhao Lingyun and Vice President Li Hongfei attended the meeting. Nearly a hundred alumni, relevant functional departments and heads of secondary colleges participated. The conference was hosted by Duan Ying,anclass-of-1998alumnaof Music college.
At the inaugural meeting, Cao Yongshu (Korea), anclass-of-2008PhD alumnamajoring inmodern Chinesehistory, gave a report on the preparations for theSouthKoreanAlumni Association, and Li Hongfei read out the "Approval for the Establishment of theSouthKoreanAlumni Association ofCCNU".Xiao Juan,anclass-of-2004 alumna of college of fine arts, was elected as president, and Cao Yongshu was elected as executive vice president.
Mr. Guo Peng, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Busan, and Mr. Jiang Chengxi, Consul General of theSouthKorean Consulate General in Wuhan sent congratulatory letters. Park Ding, a member of the South Korean National Assembly and the president of the South Korean Chinese Alumni Association in China, sent a congratulatory video. Guo Yiming, president of the Hong Kong Alumni Association of our university, delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the local alumni association.
Xiao Juan reviewed hereducationexperience inCCNUand her work and life in Korea.She said that she would be obliged to do her job in various services with a high sense of responsibility and mission, living up to the trust of her alma mater and all the alumni. She believed that in the future, more and more students of CCNU will choose South Korea, and more and more South Korean students will choose CCNU. CCNU and South Korea will be further integrated.
In his concluding speech, on behalf of the university, Zhao Lingyun expressed his heartfelt gratitude and high respect for the South Korean alumni's heart-warming actions in supporting CCNU and Wuhan during the epidemic. For a long time, the university has adhered to the path of openness and internationalization, and striving to explore an international exchange model of teacher education with CCNU's characteristics. South Korean alumni have made outstanding contributions topromote China-South Korea friendship,carry forward the spirit of CCNU and promote Chinese culture. We look forward to South Korean alumni and overseas alumni continue to provide support and assistance for the international development of our university, acting as bridge and link for the university to the world.
On behalf of the Alumni Association,Zhao Lingyunput forward three hopes for theSouthKoreanAlumni Association.Firstlly, he hopedtheSouthKoreanAlumni Associationcan unite and lead all Korean alumni to promote the spirit of CCNU, expanding the influence of CCNU in Korea, and making further contributions to the friendship between China and South Korea and the development of the university. Secondly, he hoped theSouthKoreanAlumni Associationbuild a broader and more solid exchange and cooperation platform for Korean alumni,which cantruly become the spiritual home forallthe Korean alumni to exchange, learn, help each other and make progress together. Thirdly, he hoped theSouthKoreanAlumni Associationcancontinue to promote Chinese culture and make greater contributions to promotethe peacefuldevelopment of the region and the world.
